Research

To build the knowledge and evidence base for providing quality services, MECC will partner with Universities in the United States to conduct collaborative research that could include survey/ instrument development in multiple languages, quantitative and qualitative studies involving this population, community-based research, Community-based Participatory Research, Community engagement, data statistics, and analysis. The research collaboration will be a partnership between MECC academics, data scientists, and University researchers. Universities interested in partnering with MECC can sign a collaborative agreement upon discussion of the roles and responsibilities per entity.

Training

MECC will provide training in acculturation, assimilation, and cultural competency to support the ecosystem working with refugees and immigrants. Businesses, non-profits, and community partners can obtain training to equip their organizations. Additionally, MECC will provide training in mental health, such as Trauma-informed Care, Secondary/ Vicarious Trauma, healthy parenting, and healthy marriages. Organizations can also propose topics that will benefit the professional development of their staff. Experienced, trained, qualified professionals and academics will conduct these training courses.
